Key Information
Location: Los Cabos, B.C.S
Year: 2018
Project: Residential, 300 m2
Scope: Conceptual Design
This architectural project is located in Los Cabos and emerged as a sales tool for the land on which it is located. The environment is arid and desert, and the lot’s topography is descending and very pronounced. The program to design these residences is ambiguous due to the lack of a real client. However, a typical profile was created with commercial characteristics so the prospective client could identify with the program. Regarding the design, we tried to create a project with a different image from the surrounding constructions, proposing more organic and less invasive materials while following all the guidelines imposed in the development’s construction regulations. Classic elements of typical Mexican architecture were adopted, such as the large arches framed by rustic windows and characteristics of the “Hacienda” -type constructions. Elements of rammed earth and apparent concrete replace the adobe walls. The landscape design concept is completely arid. It uses the existing species within the lot and complements them with cacti native to the region.
